A print is an indirect transfer of ink onto a piece of paper or other medium. The shift occurs when the ink is put through a printing process.
Numerous copies, known as “impressions” can be made of the same image. Artists refer to these copies as, “editions.”
Types of printing methods include woodblocks/ woodcuts, screen prints, etchings, aquatints, engravings, lithographs, serigraphs, etc.
