Description
Stan Mitruk Chicago artist colored woodblock print, “Barber Shop.” Edition 4/6. Made in 1951. Signed in pencil lower right. Very cool depiction of a Chicago neighborhood barber shop. Reminiscent of Stuart Davis. Beautiful piece. Ready to hang. Size is 12.75X9.75 inches. With the frame it is 19.25X16.25 inches. Colorful. Frame has some minor wear. Piece overall is in excellent shape. Paper is wavy a little. Could be re-matted. The artist studied with Julio De Diego. He also worked in the Hull House and studied at the Art Institute of Chicago. Was involved with many exhibitions around the City.
