Description
Cambodian Export 19th Century Fine Silver Foo Dog Container Drug Paraphernalia. Used to carry betel, a stimulant. Piece is finely chased. Made exceptionally well and highly detailed. Fine silver, probably sterling although unmarked. Foo dog has some tiny holes possibly due to corrosion or when the piece was made. Only noticeable from the inside if the container is opened. Otherwise in good condition for its age. The tiny holes are near the head. Weighs about 40 grams of silver. Height is 2 inches. Length is 1.5 inches. Width is 1 inch. A highly unusual trade or export silver work.
